Break the Chain of Anger and Move On

11The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.

Bible KJV
We have a choice, act on anger or consciously let it go!

Do you find it difficult to break the chain of anger go and move on? We can’t always choose what happens to us. We always have a choice on how we react to a situation. Something happens and our immediate response is anger. We start spewing anger! The recipient throws hateful words back, which infuriates us. Back and forth the game goes on! We need to break the chain of anger and move on.

We have the choice; to act on our anger immediately or to consciously postpone it or even let it go for good. There may be many other reasons, beyond what is happening in that moment, causing anger to rear its ugly head.

By stopping the fury in its tracks and taking a breath, we are given time to cool off and objectively consider if the opposing argument hold merit. Or perhaps we are in a bad mood and mad at everything and need time to cool of.

Anger begins to take hold of us creating a chain reaction

How can we break the chain of anger and move on, letting it go? As the anger begins to take hold of us, we must consciously decide to put a stop to our emotions immediately. If we can’t take charge over them, they become a situation out of control.

Pray for peace over the situation. If you can’t pray, just call the word “help” out to God and he will hear you!

Ask for the Father to assist everyone involved to see, with a clear mind, what’s really happening.

Through God, call on Jesus and with his strength in us, the anger will dissipate. (I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me).

Request that God that through the Holy Spirit’s guiding, help us out of the situation, with love, kindness and forgiveness for everyone involved.

How should we respond to anger?

Our first response to anything should not be anger. Take time to consider the reason for the offence and be slow to anger. Perhaps counting to ten will give us enough time to take control of the situation.

Remember that anger is a temporary reaction and we must learn to control it. Anger should never be the first reaction to a situation.

Stop immediately and take some time to get our emotions under control. Revisit the problem after emotions are under control.

Stop immediately and take some time to get our emotions under control. Revisit the problem after emotions are under control.

If others are involved, sometimes they can’t or won’t let it go. It’s up to us to take charge. We must cool down by walking away.

It is important to forgive other people. I don’t know what the situation you’re involved in that made you angry. Most likely, you feel you could never forgive them. There are many reasons why you should forgive. The best reason is that you deserve peace and that can only come from forgiving.

With the help of God (the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit) we can put a stop to whatever is happening in the moment. Choosing to defer the anger, gives us the opportunity to take a breath and relax. We will be able to peacefully and rationally talk about why the anger immerged. This is wonderful news!

We can not always choose what happens to us, but we can always choose how we react.

My Prayer for Proverbs 19:11

My Father in Heaven,

It is for your glory that I live. Thank you that I am created in your image and that you are willing to teach me how to be more like you.

Father, I know that on a regular basis, I am offended by someone or something. I tend to embrace the offence and bury it deep that it affects my soul. This allows my anger to keep brewing. And after awhile, my temper explodes, like a volcano.

I am aware that I can say or do something that effects other people’s emotions. I need to change and with your strength, I can. From now on, please help me to be on the lookout for situations that would cause me to fail. If any anger, bitterness or anything not of you begins to take hold of me, please allow me to immediately to be aware and turn to you, knowing in faith, that you will come to my rescue.

Please search my soul and draw out every hidden anger.

Cleanse me, in Jesus’s name. Thank you, Father. Allow me, with the strength and power of Christ, to rise above whatever brings me to the point of anger and rebellion. The more I stand in Jesus, the quicker these types of incidents will dissipate.

Overlooking an offense, breaks the chain of anger and brings glory (honour) to my name. Thank you, Lord for allowing me the opportunity to live my life in you.

It is my goal to please and honour you. All the glory to you God for all you are and all you do.

In Jesus’ name Amen

Psalm 150:1-6

God’s Breath in Our Lungs

God’s breath into our lungs! Let’s think about that for a moment. God blew his very own breath into Adam’s lungs and hence all mankind. Because it is God-given, we should use that breath to give back to God. How? In the way of worship and praise!

1Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. 2Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. 3Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. 4Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. 5Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. 6Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the Lord.

KJV Bible
Praise the Lord in his sanctuary and in the firmament of his power. Psalm 150

Every life form who has God’s breath in their lungs, wherever they are in the entire universe, are to join into the worship and exalt the Lord. Because God is the creator of all things, instruments are to be used along with singing and worshipping.

Thank and praise God for his breath in our lungs

In this Psalm, the writer says to praise the Lord in the sanctuary, which in this case is our hearts. Then we move on to the firmament, outside the boundaries of the universe we know.

It starts with the blowing of the shofar. Then the other instruments come in, ending with every person and creature in the entire universe and beyond, singing and praising God.

The last line is… “Praise ye the Lord” tells us that we are to worship and praise the Father. Therefore, to worship and praise God is a command and not really an option. But for those who truly love the Lord, it’s an honour to praise Him.

All creatures worship together. Exalt and praise God.

My prayer for Psalm 150:1-6

Father God, Abba,

God you blew your breath into my lungs and I became a live being; a part of you. It is my privilege’s to praise you Lord. May I always honour you in a way that pleases you. I will worship you with prayer and song. It is your desire Lord that all beings with breath in their lungs worship you. All instruments should be used to play songs that honour you. Why? Because you created everything and everyone! It’s a way for us to give back to you Lord.

Father God, even though I love you, I know there are days that sometimes go by where I have not honoured you at all. It boggles my mind that I can forget to worship you daily, as you are the one who gave me life. Forgive me please Lord and help me to remember that without you, I am nothing!

I bless your holy name, now and forever. Because my name is written in the Lambs Book of Life I will have the honour and privilege of worshipping and praising you for eternity.

In the name of your wonderful Son and my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, I pray.
