Revelation 4:8-11 The Cherubim and Elders Worship God
Revelation 4:8-11 This is a bit of a different take on Revelation 4 than the one posted in the category -My Notes on Revelation of Jesus Christ.
Four beasts are in front of God day and night, praising him. The 25 elders fall down in front of the throne. The Cherubim and Elders Worship God, as we all will one day soon.
- 8And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
- 9And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,
- 10The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
- 11Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
The Cherubim and the Elders worship God the way he deserves, because he is God, our creator. We also should also be bowing every day in thanks to Him. Everyday we need to be thankful for what he has created, how he created it all and the fact that he made it all in love.
What if God had been evil or if his word wasn’t true? If God had changed from love to evil at some point, what would this world be like today? Where would we be now? These are good questions that we don’t have to answer because God’s word is true. The Lord is kind and loving, and so very deserving of all the Glory.
That is why the Cherubim (4 living creatures) surround the throne. They have so many eyes which tells us they are knowing and seeing and they possess much knowledge. The 24 Elders worship God by casting their crowns before the throne. Both the Cherubim and the Elders live their lives to worship GOD, as should we .
Conscious thought, adoration, respect, devotion, sincerely and with reverence are the ways we also must worship God
My prayer for Revelation 4:8-11
This is another area where I periodically fall short Lord. While I do want to spend some time with you, I’m often hurried and my prayer time ends up wishy washy. Sometimes I may say things randomly because my mind is wandering off to other thoughts. Often I repeat the same phrases or prayers over and over again because I am only partially giving you my attention. I know Lord that this is unacceptable and I want to change.
Lord I truly desire to give you the honour and worship that you desire and definitely deserve. Yet at times I fail miserably. Please lead me to stay focused. Help me to concentrate on you and on what I’m saying to you. It is very important that I must be present in mind, body and spirit when I’m talking to you. I am grateful that you love me and will help me to worship and pray to you in the way I should.
Thank you Father for being who you are and for your creation of all things. I will worship you forever and ever.
All for your glory Lord. In the name of Jesus Christ, I praise your mighty name. Amen
